Biography - Henry de RoosDownload the After Eden Screen SaverEspañolContact AiGWho are we.Henry de RoosCreationist Biologist/Chemist( AiG - Canada )BiographyHenry is a highly effective communicator on proclaiming the accuracy and the authority of the Bible from the very first verse.Henry has a BSc. in Agricultural Science and an MS from the University of Guelph and a degree in Education from the University of Western Ontario.Henry taught high school Biology and Chemistry for 6 years , but since 1994 he has been using his science background and experience to serve as a missionary and evangelist. He served overseas for 2 years in the Caribbean and in the Toronto area since 1996.He finds that ‘Creation Evangelism' is an effective way to reach a generation with no Biblical foundation , which unfortunately describes most Canadians today.Henry grew up in a Christian home where God's Word had a prominent place. He felt the Lord directing him to study science and while there , he was flooded with anti-God , evolutionary indoctrination in many courses and was frustrated because he didn't know how to answer his professors. He had never heard about creation materials or organizations until he started to teach high school science. At that time , there was a Creation Seminar at church in Ottawa , and for the first time in his life , he was able to see the error of evolution to the point where he could use it as a tool to win others to the Lord. The Creation message deepened his faith tremendously and excited him so much that he purchased hundreds of dollars worth of creation books and videos that evening.Henry saw those years of teaching as an excellent training ground to challenge the secular evolutionary worldview both there and in many churches. ( The Principal at the Christian High School where he taught did not want any Creation material to be presented to the students , saying that Genesis was only symbolic and that evolution was a valid scientific alternative! ).From there that the Lord established him as a missionary using ‘Creation Evangelism' to win the lost and to call the church back to a Biblical foundation beginning with Genesis.Henry began ‘officially' speaking for Answers in Genesis in August 1999 , although he had already been using a 'Genesis first' approach to evangelism for years.Demand for Henry to speak throughout Canada continues to grow partly because responses of those who have been to his seminars have been overwhelmingly positive. He is married to Kara and they have 4 children ( Ryan , Leah , Nathan and Daniel ).They make their home in a small village near Brantford , Ontario.EducationBSc. - Agricultural ScienceMS ( University of Guelph )
