Dr. Henry Allen Tupper was head of our Foreign Mission Board from 1872 to 1893.During his years, the "controversial" action was begun to start the Woman's Missionary Union.In responding to the talk about the role of women, over 100 years ago, Dr. Tupper said, "it is wiser to stimulate the men than to restrain the women."I think he was right then and now.
