PARC Board Chairman Henry Fortin said the bid by Oval West brings not only revenue but security for the history of the buildings."The proposal was undeniably attractive for financial reasons, but PARC management and the board were impressed by the track record of the investors and their visions for the property," Fortin said."Of paramount importance, they pledge to respect the history of the Oval and the buildings they will improve."Oval West developed a similar parcel of former military housing in Essex Junction, Vt.The deal won't be formally closed on until September, but renovations are expected to begin this summer.
