NHA Summer Lecture: Lucretia Mott by Helen SeagerNANTUCKET, MASS: The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) is pleased to present Helen Seager, who will give an illustrated lecture entitled Lucretia Coffin Mott: The Greatest American Who Ever Lived? In her capacity as director, Seager also monitored the implementation in law of the equal rights amendment in the Pennsylvania constitution and advised women statewide about organizing their own advocacy efforts for all women.Seager was also the treasurer and subsequent president of the Pennsylvania Women's Campaign Fund. "A Quaker and Nantucket-born reformer, Lucretia Mott was a woman before her time—supporting rights for women and Native Americans and advocating for prison reform and the end of slavery—at a time when most women were seen and not heard," said Seager.
