Heidi Schult Gregory
Ms. Gregory is a member of the firm and serves on the Health Care Providers Industry Team as well as with the Medical Malpractice Defense Group.
has extensive court experience representing hospitals, health care providers, nursing homes, residential treatment facilities, professionals, insurance companies, municipal corporations, school districts, and large and small businesses in state and federal court.
has successfully litigated a variety of medical malpractice and negligence cases and has handled numerous guardianship and civil commitment proceedings.
regularly counsels health care clients in areas of risk management, clinical operations, statutory and regulatory compliance, professional discipline, and medical record subpoenas/requests.
also provides statutory and regulatory compliance training seminars in HIPAA, Mental Hygiene Law and Public Health Law.
has prepared and argued a variety of motions and appeals in both state and federal court, including the successful defense of various medical malpractice claims.
recently prevailed in a motion to dismiss a personal injury claim against a local municipal corporation for procedural deficiencies.
also successfully defended via motion for summary judgment a hospital in an employment discrimination civil rights litigation.
In addition, Ms. Gregory has sole responsibility for the representation of two area health systems in their respective mental hygiene civil commitment hearings and jury trials.
Ms. Gregory has been a long-standing member of the Monroe County Bar Association and is currently serving as the co-chair of the Membership Committee.
She is also active with the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA) currently serving as president-elect.
Ms. Gregory served two terms as the secretary on GRAWAâ€™s Board of Directors.
In addition, Ms. Gregory
participates in GRAWAâ€™s
Family and Careers Committee conducting surveys of the local legal community regarding gender equity in the workplace.
She is also active with her church, Faith Lutheran Church in Penfield, serving on Church Council, the Board of Directors for Faith Child Care and Nursing School and as a lay reader.
Ms. Gregory also serves as the legal advisor for a large local health systemâ€™s Ethics Committee and its Institutional Review Board.
