...Heather joined Today's 6 in October of 2004.Prior to that, she worked as a reporter and evening anchor at KJCT-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado.It's there she earned numerous awards for her work from the Colorado Broadcaster's Association, including Best Newscaster.
This isn't Heather's first brush with the early morning shift.Her broadcasting career began at WETN-FM in Wheaton, Illinois, where she was the morning show producer and co-anchor for 2Â½ years.
Before falling prey to the broadcasting bug, Heather
wrote for her
hometown newspaper, the Haxtun Herald
a country girl at heart, Heather
grew up on a ranch on the plains of Colorado.From chasing storms to cheering on the beloved Denver Broncos at home, she then went on to graduate from Wheaton College with a double major in Journalism and Music.She also spent time studying in Los Angeles at the World Journalism Institute, where she was honored as a Fellow.
has covered everything from wildfires, to high-profile criminal cases, to antique car shows.Above all, though, the most rewarding part of her
job is listening to the passions of the people she
meets on the job.Everybody has a story, and it's her
privilege to hear it.
