Meet Heather Hart, Animal Center
Director for Baltimore Humane Society
Always there, always working to make us a more effective animal welfare organization.
career much like many who come into the industry... as a volunteer.
Originally coming from a checkered background including emergency preparedness and Bank of America
business skills to the test and branched out on her
own as a professional photographer.
After two successful years and after spending some time in Katrina-ravaged Louisiana, Heather
shifted gears to become more heavily involved in animal welfare.
Her efforts have taken her across the country researching best practices and have placed her squarely at the Humane Society of Baltimore County, an organization ripe with potential.
A University of South Carolina graduate majoring in Spanish, Heather has spent an extensive amount of time abroad and has cultivated an open, objective approach to her work.
professional career by spending her
spare time in seminars with topics ranging from compassion fatigue to canine behavior, with an emphasis in shelter operations management.
When not at work, she
enjoys time with her
dogs and plans her
vacations around which shelters she
would like to visit across the United States.
I've seen few places with the potential of the Humane Society of Baltimore County
I'm honored to be here and to help shape a tremendous organization.
Most of all, I'm excited about all of the animals across our region that I know we will help.
