It was during his
time as an Army Colonel that Dr. Hargis
is well known around the world for inventing and perfecting new surgical instruments and is credited with coining the term "orthognathic surgery."By the time Dr. Hargisjoined the faculty of the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1972, he was a highly sought-after oral and maxillofacial surgeon in both military and academic circles.
