"What we have constructed is green, biogas power plant technology," Hans Henrik Andersen, Semco Maritime Vice President and head of Energy Infrastructure explains.

"The facility will use heat generated by a waste disposal site and is our first project overseas based on biogas," says Semco director Hans Henrik Andersen, who adds that the project will serve as a good reference since many countries in Central America and on other continents are looking at how they can use waste for electricity production.

Recently returned from Tanzania with the signed agreement, Hans Henrik Andersen expects the new heavy fuel plant to be ready at the end of 2011. This will necessitate a project organisation in Esbjerg with about 15 employees as well as 10-15 Semco employees on the installation site at the southern shore of Lake Victoria. - Projects of this kind often drag out, and we have had the project in progress 18 months before the contract was signed, says Hans Henrik Andersen.
