St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital is proud to announce that breast specialist and surgeon Hannah Brooks, MD, FACS, has joined its medical staff and opened an office at the Cornwall Medical Pavilion on SLCH's Cornwall campus.
Dr. Brooks has been involved in groundbreaking research at Sloan Kettering, spent years in private practice and worked at major teaching hospitals in New York City.

Brooks comes to SLCH from Queens-Long Island Medical Group, where she was attending breast and general surgeon and on the clinical faculty of North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital.
Prior to joining the multispecialty practice, Dr. Brooks was Director of Breast Surgery Services at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Forest Hills and was Chair of the American Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Task Force in Queens.
After earning her medical degree at Albany Medical College, Dr. Brooks did research in tumor immunology at New York Hospital and Sloan Kettering Institute.
The work she
was involved in at these Institutions -- developing monoclonal antibodies detecting tumor antigens -- was patented, and instrumental in the evolution of such current treatments as Herceptin.

and has practiced breast and general surgery for nearly 15 years.
She is board-certified in General Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the New York Metropolitan Breast Group.
