Haley Heath
Haley Heath Haley Heath- www.haleyheath.com Haley Heath is the host of Family Traditions with Haley Heath on The Sportsman Channel. Haley and her husband G.O. have known each since first grade and have always shared the love of the outdoors together. At the early age of six years old Haley harvested her first deer (a basket- rack seven point that still is displayed proudly on her wall) with her father and has been an avid hunter ever since! Haley's biggest passion is big game, with whitetail and Elk tying for her top favorites! Haley competed as the only woman contestant on ESPN's Ultimate Outdoorsman Search in 2006 and competed for nine months until at the final competition Haley was nine months pregnant and was unable to compete, coming in second place! At that point she decided there needed to be a show about a young woman and her family's tradition of raising children in the outdoors. Her passion of bringing more families together and getting more women in the outdoors is evident in her shows and speeches. Haley and G.O. have two children, Gunner and Dakota. G.O. owns and operates a restaurant while Haley works full time at Bass Pro Shops. Their families have been connected through generations sharing the passion of the outdoors and hope that through their journey they too can help other families get more involved and keep the tradition alive! back to names... Before Haley Heath stepped foot onstage as a contestant for the new CBS game show, "Power of 10," she and her husband, G.O., discussed strategy.Should she advance far enough in the game, Heath wanted his wife to stop at $100,000 or $1 million rather than risk any money going for $10 million.Haley Heath, on the other hand, wanted to go for broke if the opportunity arose."We were complete opposites," she said. With the exception of Haley's parents, sister and sister-in-law, all of whom joined G.O. and Haley in New York for the taping, the rest of their family is in the dark as to how she fared. The family had a going-away meal Sunday for a relative who is being deployed to serve in Iraq, and they spent most of it grilling G.O. and Haley on how she did."It's so much fun coming back home," Haley Heath said."It's still like being on the show. All the Heaths can confirm is that of the 12 contestants CBS flew to New York, Haley was one of the six to get picked to appear on the show.As part of the show, Haley had to face off with another contestant, trying to get three of five preliminary questions correct.Haley said meeting Carey made the process of being on stage a lot easier. The Heaths own a local restaurant and Haley also works for Bass Pro Shops."Power of 10" isn't Haley's first experience being on TV; she appeared on a hunting program on ESPN and is producing her own hunting program these days. But facing a single camera in the woods versus facing a bank of cameras with a live studio audience are two different things, as Haley found out."In the beginning, I thought (the hunting show) would help," she said.Haley said she applied for the show because the network constantly promoted the need for contestants. She applied at CBS' Web site.Despite the fact the show has only been on the air for a month, Haley said it's become very popular to apply for."I think one of the CBS producers said they had something like over 100,000 applications in a month," she said.No matter what she did on the program, Haley said the amount of support she's gotten has been overwhelming."It seems like all of central Georgia has really rallied around us," she said.
