Weld Tooling Corporation was founded in 1948 by H. Edward Cable, in partnership with Paul Dagostino, Paul Resko, Roy Eichleay and Al Buehrig under the name of D & R Electric Company, Inc.
Ed Cable was a consultant to the welding industry with respect to mechanization and automation of welding systems.In 1952, the company outgrew its original location and moved to 3001 West Carson Street, which is still the home of the Field Service Shop and the general Offices.
The Company name was changed to Weld Tooling Corporation in 1956.On April 2, 1957, our current CEO Herbert E. Cable joined the company as a sales representative.

Cable was honored for his integrity, leadership, and devotion in the development of welding automation/mechanization.In 1973, he spearheaded the initial involvement of U.S. companies to showcase American-made welding products at the Schneiden und Schweissen International Welding Exhibition in Essen, Germany.
