("Buster") Asmus was born in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1949 and is a graduate of The University of Alabama (B.A. 1971; J.D. 1974), where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and was on the Editorial Board (1972-73) and the Managing Board (Student Work Editor, 1973-74) of The Alabama Law Review.After law school, Mr. Asmus served as Law Clerk to The Honorable James H. Hancock, U. S. District Judge, Northern District of Alabama, from 1974-75.He was admitted to practice in Alabama in 1975 and has practiced law with Armbrecht Jackson since that time. His
thirty years of law practice have involved wide experience focused primarily on matters relating to civil litigation in fields ranging from admiralty and maritime law (personal injury, allisions, collisions, administrative actions against licenses) to worker's compensation (with emphasis on Longshore and Harbor Worker's and Defense Base Act claims), insurance defense (including personal injury and property damage cases, as well as insurance coverage matters), construction disputes, railroad cases, and occupational disease litigation.He
is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court
