The main entrance will be at Thunderbird Road and 27, according to Gregg Lurie of Sun Atlantic Development LLC.
Construction is expected to begin in January. The center is expected to open in the fall of 2007. Lurie
said Wednesday that the following retailers have either signed contracts or will do so by the end of this month: Bed Bath and Beyond, Ross Dress For Less, Famous Footwear, Marshalls, Books-A-Million, Party City, Petco, Michaels and Circuit City
"They are all excited about being in Sebring," Lurie
There is a 12,000 to 13,000 square-foot space available for a store and some space for smaller shops, according to Lurie
said building plans will be submitted to the city of Sebring by the middle of this month. He
added that the project is going through the permitting process with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
"It's a great center; it will be terrific for the community," Lurie
, who has been working on the project for a year, said he
was looking around the state for places to develop a shopping center and believed that Sebring is a viable location.
As far as the name of the center, Lurie
didn't want to go into how that came about other than to say it involves a personal friend.
The closest project to Sebring that his
company has developed is a small center in Lakeland on U.S. 98.
