Greg Watts, current chairman of the art department at Metropolitan State University of Denver, will start at UNT on Aug. 1.

Watts, who has two art degrees as well as a master's of business administration, said he hopes to make business education part of the curriculum to give students the best value.

The announcement of Watts joining UNT came days after the Texas Legislature approved funding for a new College of Visual Arts and Design building.
The project will be funded with $70 million in tuition revenue bonds, and may be supplemented by university funds.
