According to Greg Shulman, vice president of international marketing for Bellagio, Chinese New Year is important to the casinos financially, maybe not in terms of overall visitor count, but clearly for gaming volumes, especially baccarat.
He also said that Chinese New Year typically attracts high end visitors from Greater China (Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong) who typically stay longer and spend more than the average visitors.
