"We constantly strive to drive efficiency throughout the supply chain," Graham Robertson, CIO, Coca-Cola Amatil NZ explains.
The company's bespoke Sales and Marketing (SaM) app is now helping them trial wearable technology for delivery drivers. Using Vodafone's 4G high-speed network connected to an iPod Touch on an armband, wearable tech could soon be making deliveries more convenient for both drivers and customers. "Drivers would be relieved of the hassle of carrying paper forms but it would also mean our customers could sign and pay for their delivery in real-time. What's more, if the customers are kept in the loop with the delivery schedule, they are more likely to be there to receive the products," says Robertson of the system, expected to roll out nationwide within the next few months. "It's completely customer-centric," Robertson says.
