Lieblein was president and managing director of GM Brazil from June 2011 to January 2013.

Lieblein began her GM career in 1978 as a co-op student at General Motors Assembly Division in Los Angeles.
She progressed through a number of positions, including manager of GM's Desert Proving Ground in Arizona and director of Engineering Design for GM's North America Car Group.
Lieblein has a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and a master's degree in management - materials/logistics - from Michigan State University.

In addition to her roles at GM, Lieblein is a member of the board of directors for Honeywell International, U.S.-Mexico Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (COMEXUS) and the Karmanos Cancer Institute's board of directors.
Also, Lieblein is on the advisory board of Focus: HOPE in Detroit and the board of advisors for US-MEX Forum for Cooperation, Understanding and Solidarity (FoCUS).
In January 2014, she was named chairman of the board of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council.
