Environmental Resources Management (ERM), one of the world's leading providers of environmental consulting services, has appointed Gordon Sage to the position of Deputy Chairman, of its London based global board.Mr. Sage, aged 54, joins ERM in a non-executive capacity having recently retired from a successful 30-year career with Rio Tinto, where he spent six years on the main board (1995 - 2001) with responsibility for its industrial minerals and diamonds activities.

...Mr. Sage held a number of senior roles with Rio Tinto including Chief Executive of Rio Tinto Borax and Rio Tinto Pillar (which comprised over 80 businesses operating in the UK, Canada, the USA and Europe).In addition to his work for ERM, he will continue to operate as Senior Independent Director at Railtrack Group PLC and as a Non-Executive Director of Merrill Lynch World Mining Trust plc.
