"Many of us are motivated by passion and principle rather than just profits. Ironically, after leaving the industry for several years in the 1990s, she was elected president of the FSC in 1998, one year after her return to porn production.

In a career which moved frantically behind the scenes, front and center is where Gloria Leonard has spent most of her professional days. Leonard grew up in New York and, before entering the adult industry, worked for three years as a registered representative of the now-defunct Schweickart and Company on Wall street. Ms. Leonard's career began as a photographer's stylist and men's magazine journalist and most recently, she directed several films aimed at couples in general and women in particular ("Vow of Passion," "Slow Dancing," "Two Hearts" and "Fortune Smiles", which is highly regarded by a number of accredited sex educators.
