...GLENN G. WOOD, M.D., M.P.H. Glenn G. Wood, M.D. is the president of Carousel Pediatrics and the Foundation for Acquisition of Community and Therapeutic Sciences (FACTS).He
is the coauthor of several articles in peer-review journals and has contributed to the Encyclopedia of Ethics.He
is the author of The AIDS Epidemic: Balancing Compassion and Justice (1990) and Growing Up: A Child and Adolescent Health Guide (1997) He
has been interviewed on about 100 radio stations and has produced Public Service Announcements concerning research on health, family, and social issues that have played on more than 300 radio stations in the United States and in all the continents of the world. Dr. Wood
has written many newspaper articles on empirical research that have been published in more than 700 newspapers domestically.The combined circulation of these articles in the last decade was more than 100 million.He
has also published newspaper articles in 45 foreign countries.Dr. Wood is currently heading up a project to categorize empirical research through a series of monographs on health, family, and social issues.

Dr. Wood teaches courses in medical ethics at the University of Texas in both the Humanities and the Philosophy Departments.He also holds a clinical faculty position for the University Texas Medical School in Galveston and the Graduate School of Nursing at the University of Texas. Dr. Wood graduated from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1979 and completed a residency in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Children's Medical Center in Dallas in 1982.He is board certified in Pediatrics and is the past Chief of Pediatrics at South Austin Medical Center.Dr. Wood completed a Master in Philosophy degree from the University of Texas in 1986 and a Master of Public Health degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1999. Dr. Wood
has been practicing Pediatric and Adolescent care in Austin, Texas since 1984 where he
has cared for many indigent children, seeing first-hand the practical problems that families face at the end of the 20th century.He
has designed a psychosocial preventive program aimed at reducing drug and alcohol use, teen pregnancy, school dropout rates, and delinquency in children and adolescents. Dr. Wood
wife Nancy have 4 children.
