was saved at age eleven, and began preaching at age seventeen.Since that time, he
has served pastorates in West Virginia and Texas, and has been engaged in full time evangelism since 1976.He is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.He
has produced weekly radio programs in West Virginia since 1976, and has maintained daily broadcast schedules in the United States and the Caribbean area since 1977.He
has led 22 tours to Bible Lands and taken multiple missionary trips to Jamaica, Guyana, Poland, Ukraine, Australia, Grenada, Dominican Republic, Uganda, China,Philippines and Thailand. Dr. Mathews'
focus is on expository preaching, with messages developed to meet the needs of the 21st Century.Mrs. Mathews

was saved at age sixteen during a tent revival near her
home in Asheboro, North Carolina.Immediately following, she
was baptized in a nearby creek.She became a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, and served in many capacities there for the next five years.
had known the call of God upon her
life from the beginning, she
left to attend Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee.While there, she
was active in church and the school, and married Glenn Mathews
on July 26, 1958.
Their ministry together began at Belle Creek Baptist Church, Dixie, West Virginia.Through the years, they have served pastorates in two states and ministered in the areas of evangelism and missions on every continent.After college and graduate school, Fleta
taught in both public and private schools, and has had the privilege of serving in singing, counseling and teaching women's and children's groups.
On July 26, 2007, Dr. and Mrs. Mathews
will celebrate their 49th anniversary.
...Jim was saved in 1949 at Farrar Memorial Baptist Church at Rand, West Virginia, where Rev Guy Smith, Dr. Mathews' uncle, was pastor.
Gary and Dr. Mathews
have traveled on missions trips to the Dominion Republic and toured the Holy Land.
