Treat announces intent to run for re-election as MC assessorFrom staff reports

YELLVILLE - Glenda Treat, Marion County Assessor since 1997, announced Friday her intention to run for re-election.
In addition to being assessor for more than 10 years, Treat has two additional years' experience as Marion County deputy assessor prior to being elected.
Treat said she has another three years' experience in county government and 26 years of public service.
Treat said she attended state assessment coordination department training and has taken continuing education college courses and seminars.
Treat is a member of Arkansas Assessors Association.
She said she has contacted state senators to voice county assessment concerns on behalf of Marion County citizens.
She is a board member of Ozark Opportunities Inc. and an organizing coordinator of the local Veterans Reunion.
Treat says she:
Treat said she made a statement when she was first elected assessor.
Treat said she has lived in the area her entire life.
The deadline to register to vote in the primary is April 21, Treat said.
People tell me Mrs. Treat sold a farm recently for 1.5 million. If this is true, why does she want to keep that low paying jib? Marion Co. people say there was always a story about their farm being assessed for fewer cows then they actually had and in fact had actually had a bank loan based on more cows than they were assessed for. Those are the kind of things things that just sort of happen, but if she did cash out for that kind of money, what is going on that she still wants that job?Is there something that she doesn't want a new assessor to see?

Cheers for Ms Treat!
Glenda retire!
The money that pays the company that does YOUR job comes from our schools Glenda, it's not magic money that every other county pays to help us.That $400,000 you pay to the company in Liittle Rock come out of Marion County tax payers pockets, not anyone elses.
You have had your time, let someone else with new ideas make changes.
Glenda, can you keep this clean?Denounce the personal attacks and lies about your opponent written on you behalf, please.
If that's true, how long has Treat been in office and she still doesn't understand the process?
Or worse yet has she been in office so long that "Hey it's only 400k of taxpayer's money, no big deal"
