Yesterday, the first "R.I.P MCA" memorial billboard went up in Los Angeles as a result from a collaboration between Shepard Fairey and Glen E. Friedman. Adam Nathaniel Yauch aka MCA was an American rapper, songwriter, film director, and human rights activist. He was best known as a founding member of the Beastie Boys. Street artist (and OBEY founder) Shepard Fairey collaborated with legendary punk and rock photographer Glen E. Friedman on some billboards paying tribute to the late Beastie Boys member Adam "MCA" Yauch.
I'm not a fan of Fairey's art but Friedman's is awesome.
