Gina Jack, the Environmental Educator who is, in reality, the editor of Conservationist for Kids, says, "We are being careful with the first few issues.We need to get established before we can branch out.Everything is reviewed before it goes to print."

So, with three issues a year, the focus for future editions is birds, climate change, state symbols like the sugar maple, the Hudson River Quad, and then the beaver; it is with the latter that, Jack says, there is the potential to tie in beaver trapping with the settlement of New York state.
