In July 1979, RNA President Gerry Muhl worked with other club members to have the Susan B. Anthony dollar first publically issued in Rochester, the home of that great human rights activist.

The Irondequoit resident, after all, is a retired American history teacher. "Coins are a very tangible reminder of the past," said Muhl, 67. "Who knows? George Washington could've spent that bill." Muhl also is a past president of the Rochester Numismatic Association, which can tap into a healthy bank of its own history.
