Gerald Weisenseel '55 - Information Technology
Gerald Weisenseel '55 - Information Technology Dr. Weisenseel's career in information technology has taken him on a journey meeting all sorts of people here in the United States as well as overseas in Australia and Europe. Just as he has excelled in his life's chosen work, Gerald has created a giant network of helping others through his unselfish efforts giving back to his community. Dr. Weisenseel's commitment for excellence began with his appointment to the USMA at West Point, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1959. He received his MBA from Florida Atlantic University and a Dr. of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He is quite proud that he helped establish the degree programs in International Business Economics and Information Technology at Southern Cross University in Australia. Gerald's long career in information technology began in 1988 as an Adjunct Professor, then Professor. In 1992 his duties as Vice President and Senior Consultant led him to overseas assignments in Australia, Denmark, Canada, and Ireland. In year 2000, Dr. Weisenseel began his present career at the University of Phoenix, teaching at the undergraduate through doctorate levels. Dr. Weisenseel has also excelled through his volunteer and community activities: President of the North Palm Beach Jaycees, President of the North Palm Beach Rotary Club, President of the Nativity Lutheran Church, Palm Beach Gardens, and Financial Director, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Palm City. Several years ago at a mini reunion in Florida, Dr. Weisenseel was talking to his classmates about Coach Sprig Gardner. Gerald and Vincent Pacent (also '55) were discussing the fact that Coach Gardner was the first high school coach to be inducted in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and there was no recognition of this accomplishment at Mepham. Still very active, Dr. Weisenseel is self employed as a college professor and as an investment advisor and Licensed Stock Broker. He is very proud of his family: his wife, Marilyn Crum (Class of 1958), and his children Karen, Lynne, and Robert, and three grandsons. Dr. Weisenseel's Who's Who nomination was submitted by Audrey Kane Capozzi, Class of 1958, who was a classmate of Marilyn. Congratulations to Marilyn and Gerald who are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2010!
