practice emphasizes two major areas: (a.) the representation of individuals with mental and physical impairments and their family members in regard to issues involving Medicaid/Medicare, disability entitlements including the Social Security Administration

Experience and Memberships
Mr. Tarutis has previously held positions with the Administrative Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Health Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.
Mr. Tarutis has been a presenter and developer of lecturers at various Continuing Legal Education programs sponsored by the American Bar Association and the Washington State Bar Association.
has also lectured to various member organizations, both locally and nationally, on the topic of special needs trust and related estate planning concerns.
Mr. Tarutis has been a member of the Treatment Advocacy Center (TAC) Board of Directors since 1998 and previously served on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) from 1996 to 2002.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of NAMI Greater Seattle where he has served for several years.
