George N. Panos
Juror: George Panos It is easy to say his interest in films began early. George recalls his dad breaking away from his busy restaurant business and taking his boys to see "Pork Chop Hill," Westerns and kids' movies like "Nikki, Wild Dog of the North." Comedies, musicals and foreign films all fit into his mix , having watched films in Greek as a child during Greek Independence Day celebrations. While attending West Virginia University, where he earned a B.S. degree in Broadcast Journalism, George took a film class, which is why he has to be at a movie well before it starts to get the best seat , in line with the projector. He and his wife enjoy watching (oldies) the Thin Man series with William Powell and Myrna Loy on PBS. Before becoming an electronics sales representative in Silicon Valley, George had stints as a PR/Ad Agency copywriter and interned/part-time for on-air and production work at a PBS-affiliate station. Actively involved in promoting community and civic organizations, his contributions include chair of the Mt. Madonna YMCA Board of Managers, board member of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee, and president of the Morgan Hill Unified School Board of Trustees. He is a former contributing columnist to the Morgan Hill Times and appeared as a host on Morgan Hill's local cable television network.
