George Huchting, former program executive officer for theater air defense and surface combatants.
You can only say, ‘I am working on it, for so long before you have to go and test it.The Navy has to stand up and say what they want and tell those companies to go do this, he added.
Navy officials are now considering adding several additional flight tests to the current program in order to fully flesh out the DACS system, defense industry sources said.
More tests is not an unreasonable thing to do, a defense industry source said. There are delays, but they are not insurmountable issues. There is no disaster here..

Rear Admiral George Huchting shared his thoughts on why these ships were so significant, and how the Adams Class Museum should be used to educate the youth of today and tomorrow. Next, our Guest Speaker, Admiral Jonathan Howe USN (Ret) spoke eloquently regarding the Cold War, and the role that was played by the Adams Class Destroyers. He made it very clear that there was a compelling case to be made for telling the story of the Cold War, how the USA was successful in winning that very difficult struggle against Communism, and how the story of the US Navy and the Adams Class needs to be told through the Adams Class Museum.

Non-HLA Applications SessionsWhile the bulk of the simulation applications addressed at Simulation Interoperability Workshops are covered by the DoD High Level Architecture (HLA), we recognize that other architectures and protocols are also in use. These sessions provide opportunities for those involved with non-HLA environments and applications to share their insights and issues with one another. These sessions are intended to help those using older distributed simulation protocols, such as the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocols of IEEE Standard 1278, as they evolve into the HLA environment, as well as to help those using non-HLA environments to benefit from the insights and experiences of others.
