George T. Boozalis, M.D.
A native Texan, Dr. Boozalis grew up along the Texas Gulf coast in Lake Jackson, attending Texas A&M, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry in only three years.
received numerous awards, honors, fellowships, and scholarships during his
collegiate career including the Gathright Academic Excellence Award
, the Lechner Fellowship, the Freeman Scholarship, and selection to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges
was one of the first graduates of A&M to be accepted at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.
After receiving his medical degree in 1987, Dr. Boozalis returned to Texas for his internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
was then accepted to the world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Medical School
performed fellowship specialty training at this top ranked ophthalmology program studying corneal and cataract surgeries (including the latest in refractive surgery).
While in Florida he also taught eye surgery to the residents in training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
has performed numerous research projects and published and presented many papers during his
Board Certified in Ophthalmology, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of numerous ophthalmic and medical societies.
brings the latest advances in ophthalmic surgery and clinical skill to our area.

returned to Texas in 1995 to develop the Victoria Eye Center
Modeled after the world renowned eye centers he
trained at, Dr. Boozalis hopes to continue the growth of Victoria Eye Center
in order to provide the best quality ophthalmic care for our community.

participates locally in charitable ophthalmic care programs and and served for many years in Central America as part of the Benevolent Mission International's
Christian ophthalmic mission to Belize.
This dedication to providing charitable Christian ophthalmic care led to his
development of the Bartimaeus Foundation
The foundation financially supports these Christian ophthalmic missions.
Most recently he has completed his Masters degree in Theology and has been active in founding an Orthodox Christian Mission Church in Victoria (www.allsaintsvictoria.org).
