Geoffrey Duce
Scottish pianist Geoffrey Duce has performed throughout Europe, in Japan, Hong Kong and in the USA. He has appeared as soloist with the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin in the Berlin Philharmonie, with numerous British orchestras, including the Scottish Sinfonia and the Edinburgh Philharmonic, and with the New York Sinfonietta.
Geoffrey has given recitals in London's Wigmore Hall, New York's Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Manchester's Bridgewater Hall and in Edinburgh's Queen's Hall. He won the Young Artists Award from Britain's National Federation of Music Societies, and was awarded the Prix de Piano at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau, France. Also in demand as a chamber musician and accompanist, he has recorded for BBC Radio and Hong Kong Radio, and has performed in Berlin's Konzerthaus and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Geoffrey initially studied in Manchester, before receiving a DAAD scholarship to the Universität der Künste, Berlin. He has just completed his doctorate at the Manhattan School of Music, New York, where he currently teaches.

WHAT: Soprano Elizabeth Claxton, pianist Geoffrey Duce
Soprano Elizabeth Claxton of Dublin and pianist Geoffrey Duce of Scotland will perform varied pieces, alone and together, for the concert.
A free 2 p.m. master class, to be presented by Claxton and Duce, will be held at the theater on Tuesday.
The evening will be divided into three parts.The first part will consist of soprano art songs and arias performed by Claxton; the second will be piano pieces by Duce; the third will be Broadway hits performed by both artists.
Duce, a doctoral student at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, has given recitals in Germany, Austria, Poland, Japan, France and England.
Duce's musical training began early.He became a student of the city of Edinburgh Music School at age 9.He later studied in Manchester, England, and Berlin.

CSO and Summitt Pianos host Piano Masterclass with Geoffrey Duce
The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO) with Summitt Pianos will host a masterclass on January 28, 2014 from 1:30pm to 4:00pm at Summitt Pianos. Six high-school and college piano students from several private and school based piano studios in Chattanooga and Cleveland will participate and garner valuable performance insights from professional pianist, Geoffrey Duce. Duce will perform the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1 with the CSO on Thursday, January 30, 2014.
