Board of trustees to consider leadership policy change

District 6 trustee Gene Sprague asked Leslie if it was possible for the board of trustees to act more quickly while trying to meet SACSCOC's concerns.
"I just want everyone to understand, my point is that we get this resolved and get it off the table," Sprague said. "I don't like us having three colleges sitting on an accreditation warning list for a full year. It's not necessary. So lets get to work. Get the job done on the other five issues." District 1 trustee Joe Alderete Jr. agreed with Sprague, saying the board of trustees needs to be "expeditious" in resolving the SACSCOC autonomy issue.

Board still unable to finalize CIP recommendations

During the presentation, District 6 trustee Gene Sprague said he was concerned with the cuts to physical plants across the colleges.
Sprague questioned if this increase in funds was necessary. Sprague said he is concerned with the cuts to Northeast Lakeview and Palo Alto, referring to the manufacturing center at PAC as "a jewel we need to fully fund;" Sprague said the extra $8 million the citizens advisory committee recommended for SPC's welding center is not necessary and $17 million would be sufficient.

District 6 trustee Gene Sprague suggested the remaining $1 million be allocated to increasing the size of this college's physical plant, which underwent a recommended cut during the citizens advisory committee's review.
