In 1987, Schonfeld (along with Ron Hartenbaum) founded MediaAmerica, Inc.
After serving as President of Jones MediaAmerica for almost nine years, Schonfeld became President of Westwood One Radio Networks and was responsible for the programming, distribution and revenue for NFL Football (National Rights and Sunday doubleheaders), CBS Radio News, CNN Radio, NBC Radio, NBC Radio News, CNBC, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal (Dow Jones) Radio, NCAA Basketball Tournament and Final Four, NCAA Football, The Masters, The Olympics, The Osgood File, The Dennis Miller Show, The Fred Thompson Show, Bill O'Reilly's Talking Points, The Grammy Awards, The BET Awards, The ACM Awards, MTV Radio, VHI Radio, Harpo Radio and a host of others.
In addition, in 1993, Schonfeld founded On Ramp, an early stage internet marketing company. On Ramp was extremely successful and grew quickly as the Internet exploded in the mid-nineties. Within a few years On Ramp was representing such blue chip companies as Anheuser Busch, Continental Airlines, Molson, Chevrolet, Bloomingdales, MTV, NFL, the Grammy Awards, and many others. In 1999, On Ramp was sold to Omnicom and became Think New Ideas.
During this same period, Schonfeld created Promotion Development Group, (PDG).
