Gary Paris, founder of Paris Film Productions, Ltd. has seen a lot of changes occur in New York City's film and television industry.
Perhaps the most exciting change is a 142 percent increase, since 1993, in motion picture shooting days. Gary
has seen first-hand the benefits of operating in New York City.As one of New York City's largest providers of rental lighting equipment to the motion picture, television and video industries, Paris Film Productions, Ltd.
has made a lot of contacts since Gary
founded it in 1976.While Gary
enjoyed providing equipment for the entertainment industry, he
considered broadening the scope of his
services in order to better serve the entertainment community.
With this thought in mind, Gary
scouted for a bigger location in Long Island City, just minutes from midtown Manhattan.Once he
found the building, Gary
made a call to the New York City Economic Development Corporation
to learn about the city's programs and what was available to nurture small businesses. The Small Industry Incentive Program provided significant tax savings that made it affordable for Gary
to purchase the larger building and open Paris Studios
, "Thanks to EDC and the Small Industry Incentive Program, Paris Film Productions
is growing today."
The new accommodations increased Gary's space by 22,000 square feet.He
now rents out, on a day-to-day basis, about 50 percent of the building as sound stages to various production companies and he
has fleet of trucks available for location filming. His
list of clients is a veritable who's who of the entertainment industry, and Gary
is pleased to provide the resources needed that makes film makers, producers, directors and actors want to return to New York City again and again.
