Gary Dummer - Grain Operations Manager
grew up in a co-op family, along with his
father and three uncles who were all general managers for co-ops throughout Minnesota.
Gary started his full-time career in the spring of 1976 at Fairfax Grain and Supply.
After years of experience and a merger, he relocated in 1990 to Ellendale, Minnesota, and accepted the position of Branch Manager at the Ellendale elevator for Benson/Quinn Co.
In 1992, Benson/Quinn
sold the Ellendale branch to Dill Company
out of Minneapolis.
In 1994, Gary
started with the Ellendale Co-op where a Grain Department was established, with a DTN screen, a phone, and several willing grain-hauling truckers.
Ellendale Co-op purchased the Dill Company
elevator and fertilizer plant in 1995.
In 1997, the facilities were leased to Cannon Valley Co-op.
Gary went to work full time with Cannon Valley Co-op in the Grain Division.
Gary worked with customer marketing, obtaining his Series 3 brokerage license, and working in conjunction with Country Hedging Inc. out of St. Paul, Minnesota.
In September of 2006, Gary was promoted to Grain Operations Manager with Interstate Mills.
