"Kenai River landowners and resource managers should be commended for the tremendous amount of effort that has gone into improvements to streambank conditions and fish habitat along the Kenai River," said Gardner Johnston of Inter-Fluve.
"These efforts have yielded important fish habitat benefits." The study also makes several recommendations to improve future Kenai River restoration projects. According to Johnston, these and other research efforts will be important for determining project effectiveness and for helping to develop future restoration strategies that provide even greater erosion control and fish habitat benefits.
