He is a particularly successful appellate litigator having appeared in both State and Federal Courts of Appeals including the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Koppell served as Attorney General of the State of New York where he administered a staff of over 400 lawyers practicing in 12 offices around the State of New York.
tenure as Attorney General he
negotiated the largest environmental settlement in the history of New York.
The office initiated dozens of successful consumer protection lawsuits, investigated and prosecuted numerous fraudulent practices, defended the State in hundreds of lawsuits and successfully collected over $100,000,000.00 for the State of New York
Prior to serving as Attorney General, Mr. Koppell was a member of the State Legislature where he was the author of over 280 State Laws, including the New York State Returnable Container Act (bottle bill), the Eminent Domain Procedure Law, the Adult Guardian Law, revisions of the Business Corporation Law regulating take-over disclosure and the Home Energy Fair Practices Act.

long service as a State Legislator and State official, Oliver Koppell
is familiar with State government and has, since his
retirement from State service, represented a number of clients before State agencies and in matters in the courts pertaining to State actions.
As Chair of the New York State Assembly Judiciary Committee, he was responsible for all legislation affecting the operation of the New York State Court System.
