The Eastman Product Grant Program has extended more than $1.5 million in grants since its establishment in 1991.Grants take the form of Kodak motion picture camera film.They are extended directly to the educational institution, rather than to individual students, in recognition of overall program quality.Use of the film is determined at the sole discretion of the school's faculty and administration.

Fred P. Watkins
Fred is a Certified Director of Music in the Presbyterian Church and a long time member of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. He has served churches full and part-time as Director of Music, Education, and/or youth in Texas, Indiana and Virginia from First Presbyterian Dallas and Plano to Epworth Methodist Church in Norfolk, Virginia, to First Methodist Church, South Bend Indiana. He has degrees in music from Southern Methodist University, BM, MM, in voice, lyric theater, choral conducting, and studies in theology and sacred music at Perkins Theology School and an MS degree in RTVF from the University of North Texas. Fred was an assistant professor of music in voice and Lyric Theater at SMU and Bethel College. As a professional singer, he performed with orchestras all over the United States such as the Dallas Symphony, Chicago Symphony, and with opera and musical theaters at City Center NYC, Dallas, Ft. Worth and Old Dominion, San Francisco, and Santa Fe Opera companies. He was a member of the Roger Wagner Chorale and other professional choral groups. Fred is one of the original singers on the Dallas Cowboys fight song. He directs features, commercials, educational, experimental, and short narrative films. Fred served five years as the President of the Denton Bach Society and seven years as a soloist with the Denton Bach Choir. He recently retired as the Director of Undergraduate Curriculum and Associate Chair for the Department of Radio, TV, and Film at the University of North Texas where he was also a Lecturer in film production, narrative producing/directing, and screenwriting. He has several films in distribution and festivals and continues to direct commercials and features. Fred currently serves on Grace Presbytery's Communication and Technology Committee.

Fred has been involved with the Denton Bach Society as a singer for five years.He is a Lecturer for the Radio, Television and Film Department at the University of North Texas where he actively teaches film production,directing, producing and screenwriting.In addition to hisduties at UNT, Fred is President of Cinema Tex, Inc., a company that produces films and commercials.To his credit, Mr. Watkins has directed and produced four films that are in current distribution.His experimental film "Hospodi Pomilui" has been featured at several film festivals for the past two years.He first became interested in film when an opera company he was with had to close its doors and he then got a job working as a production assistant.
Fred has been a professional musician singing opera and musicals with such companies and orchestras as New York City Center Opera, San Francisco Opera, Virginia Beach Summer Musicals, Old Dominion Opera, DallasSymphony, Norfolk Symphony, Western Opera Theater, Goodman Theater Chicago, Grant Park Concerts, Chicago, Old Warsaw Dinner Theater and many others.He has directed plays, opera and musicals professionally with such companies as Edison Light Playhouse, Indiana; Plano Repertory Theater, Encore Dinner Theater, to name a few.
Fred studied voice with Norman Farrow of the Bach Aria Group, Ferrell Stephens, Metropolitan OperaSingers: Mack Harrell, Thomas Hayward and Robert Weede.Fred was a finalist in the San Francisco andMetropolitan Opera Auditions.He studied choral conducting with Lloyd Pfautsch, Charles Hirt, TravisShelton, Roger Wagner and was a member of the Roger Wagner Chorale.
Fred has been Director of Music at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Dallas, for the last 20 years.Hehas also taught music and directed musicals at both South Grand Prairie High School and Jackson Middle School in Grand Prairie.Fred was Assistant Professor of music at Bethel College in Indiana where he directed the Lyric Theater and taught voice.He was Assistant Director for Lyric Theater at Southern MethodistUniversity.
Fred holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Degrees from Southern Methodist University and a Masters of Science Degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of North Texas.He did additional studies at the Indiana University.He had a full music scholarship to the North Texas State University but chose SMU instead and now finds it ironic to be teaching at North Texas.
