Intellectual Property Counsel - Toyota NA
Fred has the position of Intellectual Property Counsel with Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America ("TEMA").
job responsibilities include all patent filing and prosecution (domestic & foreign) for all Advanced Research, Vehicle Engineering, and Manufacturing business units within TEMA
is responsible for all other Intellectual Property related matters within TEMA
which include patent disputes, patent clearance studies, trademark activity, intellectual property matters relating to contracts, and infringement investigations.
Prior to joining TEMA in 2006, Fred was employed as an intellectual property attorney by an R&D company specializing in batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, hydrogen storage, catalysts, and other specialty materials.
Fred was also previously employed as an engineer in the automotive industry.
Fred has a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University.
is licensed to practice law in the states of Michigan and Illinois and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
