Fred Larson, former Chautauqua County attorney, will run for the Chautauqua County Legislature to serve Jamestown's District 12.
"What our county is doing now to keep and attract jobs is not good enough.
As a county legislator I will fight for new and better ways to improve our economy," Larson
The candidate is a graduate of Jamestown High School
, Princeton University
and the Yale Law School
has been in the private practice of law for 36 years.
He is a member of the Jamestown Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
will run for Chautauqua County Legislature in District 12.
The candidate served as an at-large City Council member from 1979 to 1982 and as a county legislator for District 12 from 1985 to 1993.
Larson served as county attorney from 1998 through 2005.
Larson is a member and past president of the Jamestown Kiwanis Club.
He is the Kiwanis adviser to the Jamestown High School Key Club.
He is a member of First Lutheran Church, where he has served as a council member, chairman of the Memorial Foundation and as a Sunday school and confirmation teacher.
Larson is also a board member of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame Inc.
For the past seven years Larson has been an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Fredonia where he teaches business law.
He previously taught at JCC.
