Frederick "Fred" Duda is the 2001 recipient of the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies
(ASCLA) Service Award.The Service Award is a citation recognizing an ASCLA
member for sustained leadership and exceptional service through participation in activities that have enhanced the stature, reputation and overall strength of ASCLA
, as well as representation of ASCLA to other organizations, institutions or government agencies. Fred Duda is the editor of ASCLA's newsletter, Interface.He also has served as secretary for the Venice Chapter of the Florida Council of the Blind, talking books librarian for Manatee and Sarasota Counties, and as an assistant university librarian at Columbia University Libraries. The award will be presented at the ASCLA President's Program and Award Ceremony during the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in San Francisco.
