ROME, NY -- State Senator Hoffmann announced today the appointment of long time Labor Leader and former President of the Mohawk Valley Building and Construction Trades Council, Frank Vetrone, to serve as the Senate Representative on the Griffiss Local Development Corporation.The appointment of Frank Vetrone to serve on the GLDC was made earlier in the day by Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno based upon the recommendation from Hoffmann, in whose district Rome is located.Vetrone retired two years ago after serving for many years as Business Agent for Painters Local 31 - District Council 4, representing 400 employees in Central New York and the Mohawk Valley."For many years Frank Vetrone has ably looked out for the interest of working men and women and has proven over and over again that he understands the need to think creatively as we build our economy.I am extremely pleased that Frank is willing to commit his time and energy to help bring vitally needed jobs to Griffiss," said the senior Central New York State Senator."I am sincerely honored and excited to be part of the enthusiastic efforts being made toward the resurgence and revitalization of the Mohawk Valley," Vetrone commented.
