The Science and Information Branch facilitates the integration of science and information management expertise to develop business solutions for ministry programs.
The branch also provides leadership for MNR's inventory, monitoring and assessment functions including design, implementation and coordination.
In 2005-06, the highest priority for the branch is the development and implementation of the new State of Resources Reporting initiative which provides for public reporting on the health of Ontario's natural resources.
Prior to taking on the position of Director for Science and Information Branch, Frank was Manager, Business Solutions Services-Forests, where the focus was providing information management services to forestry programs.
Prior to these positions, Frank
provided leadership with the Land Use Planning Branch, as the Acting Director, during the Ontario's Living Legacy initiative.
has considerable senior management experience in many parts of the ministry, including Forest Management Planning, Environmental Assessment and Land Use Planning.
Frank began his career with MNR in 1977 in the field organization as a Unit Forester in Dryden District.
During the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, Frank
was an integral part of the Class Environmental Assessment for Timber Management program.
As an expert witness, Frank addressed the subjects of Forest Information, Silviculture and Forest Management Planning and also served in project leadership roles.
also led the implementation of new forestry programs resulting from the terms and conditions of the Timber Class EA approval.
Frank is a graduate of Lakehead University, Honours B.Sc. Forestry and is a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in Ontario.
is married, has one child and lives in Sault Ste. Marie, and works in Roberta Bondar Place.
