On the 67-yard catch last Saturday, Brown was one of five receivers on the field in a third-and-10 situation. He said he ran a seam route up the middle and when he and fellow receiver Jaime Wilson crossed, the safety went with Wilson, leaving Brown in one-on-one coverage. He fought off the defender to make the catch and loped into the end zone.

Brown admits that last year he thought he could step in as a freshman and make an immediate impact. Looking back, he realized he was wrong.
"I wanted to play as a freshman," he said. "But I think back on it now, and I'm pretty glad that I redshirted. I thought I was good, but I was just OK. I got better as a player and as an individual off the field as well."
Brown is looking forward to his first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Saturday against Delaware State. He wants to win his first conference championship as a player. And he's looking forward to his first chance this year to celebrate a touchdown catch with somebody else on the receiving end of the football.
"I'd be as excited about them scoring as I'm scoring," he said. "I want all of us to get touchdowns."

"I was pretty emotional after that catch," said Brown, a redshirt freshman from Palm Beach Gardens who was playing in his first college game on Aug. 30 in Miami, not far from his hometown.

The 55-yard reception from Quentin Williams early in the fourth quarter put the Wildcats up 14-6.

They went on to win 14-12.

"When I scored, I looked up in the stands and saw my family," Brown said. "They were right there in the corner, the first people I saw. They were yelling. Everybody was cheering. There ain't nothing like having my teammates right behind me, celebrating with me on my first college touchdown. That was an amazing feeling.

"I was like, 'That's the first one, I've got many more to go.' "

His second and third touchdowns came last Saturday at home against Florida Tech - a 29-yard catch that put B-CU on the scoreboard in the first quarter and a 67-yard reception for the go-ahead score with 1:35 left in the Wildcats' thrilling 34-33 victory.

Jenkins calls Brown "an opportunist."

"He's taking advantage of the opportunities that's presenting themselves," Jenkins said.

...
"Frank is a young man that works at his craft every day and every way. He takes everything serious. He's not a guy who talks a lot or speaks about what he's going to do. He's a guy that shows his ability and what his intentions are through his actions. And that starts with his preparation. He's really taken a grasp of the preparation process, and because of that he's been able to make plays."
