Francis Russell was initially introduced to MAS by a client, who had already benefited from working with MAS and implementing lean manufacturing techniques.
To help Francis Russell
evolve as a business, the leadership team enrolled on MAS' Strategic Management Programme (SMP).
This steered them to set key priorities and create an action plan for future direction, growth and expansion of the business and in particular, the design team.
also focused on instilling a lean philosophy on the shop floor and creating a tidier workplace.
Using 5S techniques, the Francis Russell team was able to recognise the link between a tidy, well-organised factory and the time spent searching for tools, materials and information.
Through mapping the work from the enquiry stage to production, the company was able to identify where jobs were being held up, and work on eliminating production bottlenecks.
All this was geared towards improving the bottom line for Francis Russell
- to increase profits by making improvements to efficiency.
