Father Francis Fleming, once pastor of Bird Island, Mn & St. Olaf, Church in Minneapolis, Died Aug. 23, at age of 89.Amongst more important things, he was especially noted for his Church bulletin, of which 7,000 copies were printed each week.During the late seventies he took on the Hollywood Movie Moguls for showing the movie "Thorn Birds" every year during Holy Week on T V. The movie depicted a priest being unfaithful to his vows becoming intimate with a woman. In his bulletin Fr. Fleming asked why a Catholic priest is always depicted on film in these immoral situations and why it is always shown during Holy Week! Why not a Rabbi or a protestant minister?
