ARTPULSE MAGAZINE > Dialogues for a New Millennium > Interview with Francesca von Habsburg Interview with Francesca von Habsburg We spoke to Francesca von Habsburg, founder and chairman of T-B A21, about collecting, producing, and exhibiting contemporary art. Francesca von Habsburg- Well, let's just start at the beginning. My great-grandfather started collecting contemporary art by acquiring six great masterpieces by Rodin, straight from the artist's studio. My grandfather was a great collector of Renaissance and Dutch masterpieces. He was also quite fascinated with French old masters. My father went on to acquire modern art while at the same time devoting himself to filling some gaps in the collection of his father and grandfather, and this led him to bring to the collection its greatest originality and signature.

DC ART: ERNESTO NETO & HUNI KUNI "SACRED SECRET" EXHIBITION - Disi Couture

Hosted by Francesca von Habsburg, the founder and the owner of TBA21, our exhibition tour started with the Brazilian well-known artist Ernesto Neto than the presentation of the new Kiehl's "Daily Reviving Concentrates" (I will tell you everything about this product soon) and after the presentation, we were invited for an amazing dinner at the AU Cafe/Restaurant to share the thoughts and knowledge, the importance of art that plays an important role in the fields of fashion, cosmetics, lifestyle.
Founded in 2002 by Francesca von Habsburg in Vienna, Austria, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21) represents the fourth generation of the Thyssen family's commitment to the arts. The foundation is dedicated primarily to the commissioning and dissemination of ambitious, experimental, and unconventional projects that defy traditional categorizations. This approach has gained the collection a pioneering reputation throughout the world. The foundation's projects promote artistic practices that are architectural, context- and site-specific, performative, and often informed by an interest in social aesthetics and environmental concerns. Many of the projects reflect the shift away from disciplinary to transdisciplinary practices embracing architecture, sound, music, and science. The "cross-pollination" of disciplines challenges interpretation and the traditions of collecting, preserving, and presenting works of art. This approach reflects the vision of TBA21's founder, Francesca von Habsburg.
