The York Public Library
will display the paintings of Fran Scully
from Oct. 3 through Nov. 30 with a gallery talk by this noted Ogunquit artist on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m.A versatile painter, Scully has experimented with many painting and printing techniques and has found watercolor to be her preferred medium.Her
paintings include florals, seascapes and seasonal landscapes.To add texture to her
uses various materials, such as rice papers, charcoal, inks, gesso, wax and tissue paper, as well as a variety of watercolor papers.She
exhibits widely in national, regional and solo shows and has received numerous awards for her
has been a summer resident of Ogunquit since 1963 and the Scully Gallery
is now in its 34th year of business in Perkins Cove.She is a member of the Ogunquit Art Association, and her work is represented in permanent public and private collections throughout the world.
