Early in January 1943 the pulpit committee recommended that Broadway call Forest C. Feezor, pastor since 1931 of Tabernacle Church of Raleigh, North Carolina.
He preached his first sermon to the Broadway congregation on February 7, 1943. Broadway was then the ninth largest church affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Feezor resigned in October 1946 to accept a call to the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Waco, Texas.

Texas Baptists elected Feezor as Executive Secretary and he served for 8 years, retiring in 1960 at age 68. Forest Feezor was born in 1892 and grew up on a farm about eight miles south of Lexington. Feezor served several N.C. Baptist churches and was a star football player at Wake Forest University before leaving for Southern Seminary and a stint on the faculty of William Jewell College. He returned to N.C. as pastor of Tabernacle church in 1931 and was president of the BSC in 1942. Feezor then moved to Texas, where he served as pastor of the Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth and First Baptist Church in Waco. Texas Baptists elected him as Executive Secretary and he served for 8 years, retiring in 1960 at age 68. Feezor returned to N.C. in 1973 and remained active in N.C. Baptist life until his death in 1986 at age 94.

The church on March 28, 1920 extended a call to Rev. F. C. FEEZOR of Wake-Forest College to serve as pastor.
The outstanding events of his services were a great revival, and special training and emphasis in Sunday School work. On October 1, 1920, Rev.
